Please join us at Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery for our opening reception on October 18,6-9pm for "Daughter of the Stars", featuring 70+ female artists of the DMV/Shenandoah Valley region. “Daughter of the Stars” is the translation of Shenandoah. This exhibition will feature over 70 artists working in the DMV/Shenandoah Valley region.
"Daughter of the Stars" is part of a regional collaboration titled Women Artists of the DMV Survey Show conceived by Lenny Campello in partnership with American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, showcasing the work of approximately 400 women artists across 17 venues in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery is honored to have been selected to be the location representing artists of the DMV/Shenandoah Valley region for what is the largest curated exhibition of female artists in the U.S.

In conjunction with this exhibition, the Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery will present an exciting line-up of special events designed to amplify our celebration of regional artists, and shine a light on other extraordinary women ,in history and currently, working in the creative arts, science, literature and more…Events will include Sunday Artist Talks with the women included in “Daughter of the Stars” , a series of 8 documentary films about prominent creative women will be screened at our local movie theatre (Royal Cinemas), author talks, workshops, art classes and children story hours featuring books about extraordinary women in art, science and beyond in partnership with Samuels Public Library.

The 24 events running in conjunction with "Daughter of the Stars" is being produced by a new Non Profit organization called Front Royal Project for the Arts.
The mission of Front Royal Project for the Arts (FRPA), is to enrich the lives of residents and visitors of all ages in Front Royal, Virginia, through dynamic art exhibitions and creative programs. We are dedicated to fostering imagination, promoting cultural awareness, and offering transformative experiences that strengthen both individuals and our community.
