Welcome to the Women & Horses Wellness Retreat! Join us on Sunday, Oct 6th at Smiling Faces Equestrian in Ajax, ON for a day of relaxation, engagement, and rejuvenation. Make connections with our gentle rescue horses, like-minded women, and reconnect with yourself.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life to relax in the serene surroundings of the farm. Engage with the horses through guided activities and bonding exercises. Rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit with a yoga session, mindfulness practices, and more.
This retreat is the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect with nature, and nurture yourself. Don't miss out on this unique experience!
Through the use of equine assisted learning you will be guided through exercises that will allow you to explore your communication, problem solving and ability to be present in the moment. All activities take place on the ground with our safe and friendly horses.
Spend time in nature to rebalance your soul. You will be introduced to the concept of Forest Bathing and learn how being in nature can help regulate your nervous system. Engage in mindfulness and meditation practices to calm and reduce any unwanted feelings. Move your body through gentle yoga, letting go of the stresses of life. Enjoy a nourishing lunch amongst the many animals at the farm including goats, Burrito the donkey, our mini horses, Rodeo and Smudge, and our cats and dogs.
No riding of horses involved and no horse experience necessary--just an open heart and a willingness to connect. Your day will be facilitated by psychotherapist and certified equine facilitator, Laura Boyko. Her wonderful assistants will guide you through a fun afternoon being up close and personal with our equine friends. Pamela Fitzgerald, certified yoga instructor & horse whisperer, will provide a gentle and restorative yoga experience amongst the sounds of farm life! Leave the day feeling rested and restored. Connect with like-minded people as you give yourself an experience like no other.

2:15-4:00 Equine Assisted Learning session
4:00-4:30 Wrap Up and leave your new friends!

This event is hosted by Stable Works, an equine assisted learning company that specializes in team building, special events, school groups, and personal development. Stable Works owner, Laura Boyko, is a certified equine facilitator through Dreamwinds Equine Learning, holds a Master in Education-Leadership, has taught for over 20 years in college/university classes, and has led over a dozen teams in her career.
Laura always has additional trained co-facilitators at each event to assist participants with any questions or concerns you may have.
