10am - 5pm
End of residency sharing: Friday 21st Feb 2025
Place: Golden Pyramid, Arambol, Goa, India
About the Residency:
This 10 days residency celebrates female empowerment through contemporary dance, led by artistic director Laura Kenyon (UK).
Using a “tool box” of guided improvisations, company repertoire and creative tasks based on art work, images, vocal & visual scores, poems & testimonials from female activists, participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences and open up the dialogue around consent.
Laura is interested in using pedestrian gestures as a starting point to create authentic & retable material. Women are all seen as nurturing creatures that care, cater and feed. These simple everyday actions play an integral part of the work to challenge the limiting narratives of what it means to be a woman.
Together with the participants, Laura will recreate Womanewer’s latest work J’ai un Bleu. This unique performance will be shared on the last day of the residency.
