Join us for another year of wonderful Woman Up!At this event you'll explore the hot topics in health inequalities with a range of incredible speakers and interactive workshops including menopause.
We will look at the women's rights issues surrounding women's pain and reproductive health. We will consider body image and how that relates to health including the controversial BMI measure.
We've teamed up with Healthwatch Cumberland to make this event send positive ripples through local service to make change happen.
The event is in the newly refurbished Vineyard in Denton Holme, Carlisle. There will be limited parking on site or there is a council run car park nearby. There is on street parking but it is disk zone so not recommended.
The venue is accessible with a ramp at the front, a lift, an accessible toilet, a ramp to the stage. Please let us know of any accessibility needs.
There will be refreshments in the morning and afternoon and a delicious buffet lunch. Please do let us know of any allergies, intolerances and dietary needs.
If you are able, please buy a Pay It Forward ticket to contribute towards a ticket for another woman who may not otherwise be able to come. By doing this you are helping to diversify our audience and therefore make the overall Woman Up experience! Thank you.

Hey Girls - UK Woman Up has partnered with this fab organisation for our period workshops in schools. Kate from Hey Girls will join us to speak about the importance of early reproductive health education hey girls | Award Winning Period Product Social Enterprise
Teakisi - This organisation has provided a lifeline for African women in the North-East. Salha will join us to share her own post-natal journey and the importance of women supporting women Teakisi | Community | Collaboration | Change
Dandelion Coaching - Lynsey set up this important organisation to support women through the menopause in Cumbria. She will be providing a one hour optional workshop Dandelion Coaching - Menopause Support, Coaching
Beautiful Beginnings - Clare runs a yoga business in West Cumbria and will be with us sharing her knowledge of Conscious Menstruation. Wonderful Wild Women - Sarah runs this exciting organisation in the Lakes and will join us to speak about her journey through early menopause and the joy of the outdoors.
Mina Banisaeid - Mina has spoken several times at Woman Up. This time she will share her journey through Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder.
Lena McAllister - Lena has a huge story of hope, endurance and survival through the accident which paralysed her to two cancer battles. Lena is quite simply an incredible force of nature and a beautiful soul. She will speak about all three topics that theme the day.
Choir - Singing is reported to be amazing for health. A song will be shared at the end of the event and the audience encouraged to join in. One Voice – Multicultural Choir – Multicultural Cumbria
Healthwatch - Throughout the day Healthwatch will be inviting opinions and experiences to be recorded either openly or anonymously with consent. This information will be fed back into the NHS with the aim of improving care.
