About this Event
WITNESS: dancing beyond boundaries,
presented by The Flow Chart Foundation in collaboration MovingPotential
Join us in the Flow Chart Space for an afternoon showing of dance/theater that challenges perceptions of incarceration, creativity, and human connection.
Witness is a living testament to the transformative power of art and human resilience. For the past 18 months, MovingPotential has been conducting innovative workshops inside Greene Correctional Facility, creating a unique collaborative space where incarcerated individuals, formerly incarcerated individuals, and professional artists weave together a powerful narrative of movement, healing, and shared humanity.
Acclaimed artist Sondra Loring acts as director for this showing, backed up by an essemble of amazing artists: Sunder Ashni, Eric Cherry, David Fix, Peggy Gould, Dwayne Resnick, Hana van der Kolk, Suanny Upegi, and Noa Woodley.
Don't miss your chance to witness art as a bridge—connecting worlds often separated by walls, preconceptions, and systemic barriers.
Note: This performance emerges from an extraordinary partnership supported by Arts in Corrections NYS, a grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Wave Farm. Generously supported by the Office of the Governor, the New York State Legislature, and the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the project represents a groundbreaking approach to arts engagement within correctional settings.
