We will talk about a little known fact: It is harder to be emotionally tired than it is to be physically tired. Learning self-care isn’t always what you think it is. This interactive and lively session will get you thinking about how internalizing stress and how to work through the challenges of this new journey. No bubble baths or bonbon recommendations here, but we will discover unfound ways of walking through this journey together because without you there is no us!
Tammy Heller, Director of Sales at Maris Pointe Memory Care where residents are supported 24/7 by compassionate caregivers who are trained in caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments.
Marcy MacPherson of Still Alive Inside advocates for self-determination,autonomy, and independence for all. She graduated (valedictorian) with a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo. Marcy has spent over 10 years understanding dementia and the effects on people who live with it, love through it, and work amongst it. She hasyears of experience helping and supporting those who are struggling to navigate life, and the many obstacles dementia can create.
