About this Event
What does it look like to honor the Black women who built, nurtured, and fought for a better Detroit?
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Black Her Stories (BHS) and Black Bottom Archives (BBA) invite you to a gathering that honors the legacies of Black Matriarchs in Detroit. Through collage and creative storytelling, this community experience pays tribute to the caregivers—past and present—who shape our lives.
Join us for an afternoon of fellowship and participate in hands-on, creative practices that use flowers to celebrate and explore Black womanhood.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Collage Open Studio - A guided, hands-on collage workshop stocked with creative materials.
Creative Writing Prompts: A space for participants to reflect on matriarchal lineages, love, and care through guided prompts.
