About this Event
"with a gentleness" is an hour length variety piece written and performed by Blake Griffey and featuring Maddie Eaton. The show brings together comedy, drama, song, dance, design, and more. The show will feature mostly new material peppered with favorites from the Blake Griffey canon.
The performance is Saturday, June 11th, at 8pm in Gallery 1 at High Line Nine Galleries in Chelsea. Please note that this is a change from the original date. Gallery 1 is the first door on the left when entering from 27th Street. No ticket purchase required, RSVPs encouraged. There will be 30 chairs available, first come first served, and there will be standing room and sitting room on the floor. Should you need a chair reserved, please email [email protected]. The gallery is wheelchair and walker accessible with wide doorways and sidewalk level entry.
Blake Griffey is a designer, performer, and writer based in Brooklyn, NY.
He has a wide range of knowledge in the arts and experience on the creative, technical, and administrative sides. Each of his interests informs his work, cultivating a strong sense of creativity and an understanding of the broader sense of things. Blake brings his positivity and sense of humor to everything he does.
Blake’s performance resume includes threatre, musical theatre, performance art, and film. He has written for film and stage, creating works that live between realism and absurd. He most recently wrote and performed a three part variety series, "Let’s Look", in partnership with Nick Beardslee. In 2019, he debuted his performance piece, "Barabara Cook Sings Mostly Sondheim or the Four Seasons or Blue Sunset" in Ann Arbor, MI. He is currently directing a short film written by Maddie Eaton and Natalie Kastner.
