Ziggy Club è orgoglioso di presentareWITCHUNTER is an Italian Heavy Metal band founded in 2007 by the guitarist Federico “Ace”Lustini. Obsessively influenced by N.W.O.B.H.M., ‘80s European Heavy-Speed Metal and deeply rooted in the ‘70s Hard Rock sound and attitude, WITCHUNTER released their first homonymous self-produced demo CD in 2008.
In 2009, backed by the support of the metal underground scene, the demo was re-released, together with the WITCHURSE (Greece) demo, as part of the so called “Defenders of the Past”
split LP released by the German label HEAVY FORCE RECORDS.
In 2010 WITCHUNTER focused on the creation of their first full-length album which was initially released in CD format by the Italian label MY GRAVEYARD PRODUCTION and, in the
same year, re-released in vinyl format by the German label HIGH ROLLER RECORDS, due to the growing interest of the metal scene in the band’s music. Following the album’s favourable outcome, from 2011 WITCHUNTER joined European Tours. This shows around Europe granted to the band the possibility to spread its name in different European areas and to sharpen their live skills. To celebrate the success of the tour, in 2011, a live-recorded 7” called “Alive in Europe” was released by the Italian label BLASPHEMOUS ART RECORDS.Between 2012 and 2016 WITCHUNTER proved their quality as live act by supporting cult metal bands such as TANK (UK), BATTLEAXE (UK), SALEM, BLITZKRIEG (UK), CHARIOT (UK), WITCHFYNDE (UK), CLOVEN HOOF (UK), TYTAN (UK), SPARTAN WARRIOR (UK), ELIXIR (UK),
VARDIS (UK), HOLOCAUST (UK), FIST(UK) and OVERDRIVE (UK).
After a few years of studio-recording inactivity, due to some line-up changes, WITCHUNTER came back in 2016 with their second album “Back on the Hunt” which has been described by
the critics as a “Heavy/Speed inspired by ANGEL WITCH, TANK, JAGUAR, TYGERS OF PAN TANG and SAXON with a killer sound, mixed to the evilest way of MERCYFUL FATE and BLACK
SABBATH, and a damn strong and powerful hard rock '70s guitar sound and production”. In 2018 together with BLACKEVIL (Germany), a split LP called “WITCHEVIL ATTACK!” was
released by the Italian label BLASPHEMOUS ART RECORDS. Following the split in 2018 this bands joined an European Tour.
In 2022, since years after their last LP, WITCHUNTER return hungrier than ever! METAL DREAM, released by the German label DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is the name of that long-awaited comeback, and a more simple-yet-sublime title you will not find. Gleaming with a chrome-encased production that’s pure ‘80s valor, WITCHUNTER’s latest spans all the band’s previous styles – dramatic speed metal overdrive, leather-and-chains strut, balls-to- the-wall headbangers – but the pure passion and charisma in which they deliver these nine primary tracks, the seamless expression of HEAVY METAL in ALL its glories, makes Metal
Dream astounding to behold. Hooks, solos, aggression, dynamics, high notes, manliness, variety, everything heading out to the highway, and even some tasteful nods to Tony Martin-era Sabbath: it’s a veritable jukebox of ’82-’87, if we’re being specific, although it’s all palatably modern just the same. WITCHUNTER truly LIVE this, and it comes through loud ‘n’ proud in their songwriting. In all these years of activity WITCHUNTER have participated in the following prestigious European Metal Festivals: Heavy Metal Night, Raging Death Date, Agglutination Metal
Festival, Mountains of Madness, Old Grave Fest, Metalheadz Open Air, Trveheim Festival,
Little Black Forest, Keep It True Rising, Up the Hammers Festival…
AXEBLADE
