On Sat. Sept 20th, come join us for a spooktacular event at KAYAK STARVED ROCK CAMPGROUND for the 3nd annual Witches on the Water!! Proceeds will be distributed to local animal shelter/rescues. Grab your broomsticks (or paddles) and get ready to paddle for a purrrrrect cause. Dress up as your favorite witch OR warlock and enjoy a day on the water while supporting our furry friends. Located near Starved Rock State Park on the beautiful Illinois River near Utica, il. this scenic paddle takes you through the lilypad fields & next to the towering sandstone bluffs. This year's beneficiaries are Pet Project, For The Love of Pets, & 2nd Hand Ranch. These rescues which are non profits run by volunteers, help both animals and your community in meaningful ways. *Dress in your best witchy attire & life jacket of course & have fun decorating your boat! There will be costume, boat & witches cackle contests!!
**Ticket options :
(A)$49-per person-Bring your own kayak, canoe, paddle board & your own life jackets (no blow-up tubes or rafts) if you bring your own tandem or canoe the price is $49/per person.
(B) rent a single kayak $79 or tandem kayak $59 per person.
(C) admission with NO paddling $30 , All tickets available online
**The day's agenda:
10:00 am-11:30 am Check-in at the desk by the beach launch area.
11:45 am Group pictures!
12:00 pm launch for a scenic guided paddle about 1.5 hours. Go with the group or just paddle around the lilypads if you'd like a shorter paddle. If you'd like to just stay back on the beach, thats fine too, its a beautiful view!
2:00 pm light meal provided, music, photobooth, mingling, dancing, RAFFLES!! less this year but BIGGER & BETTER!!
CONTESTS! 1)Best Costume 2)Best Boat 3)Best Witches Cackle & NEW this year-- 4)Best Group( up to 6 people)! scavenger hunt, & more giveaways! 5)Let's fill up the cauldron! Bring a pet supply donation ( pet food or treats not expired, torn or opened, toys, litter are good options) & be entered into a raffle drawing for a fantastic prize!
