Join us for another mystical evening of art, music, education, and magic on April 12th at Tangent Gallery / Hastings Street Ballroom! The Witches Night Bazaar features a curated selection of artists and local merchants specializing in jewelry, fine art, herbalism, self-care, and esoteric wares and will also host tarot readers, metaphysical workers, body artists.
Witches Night Bazaar: Rite of Spring 2024 will include:
✨A Bewitching vendor market
✨Classes on witchcraft and herbalism
✨The Fairy, Flora, and Fauna Costume Contest
✨The Witches Rave - featuring LUNG
✨A take home planting ritual + free starter plant for all attendees
The expanded Bazaar will also include a selection of classes on witchcraft and herbalism as well as musical performances and entertainment throughout the night. Local non-profits and community organizations will also be set up to inspire you to get active and involved in making your world better. Each attendee will have the opportunity to participate in a special intention setting ritual where the can plant the seeds of desire and take home a free starter plant. We’ll close out the evening with our Fairy, Fae and Fauna Costume Contest and a set by LUNG.
Witches Night Bazaar is back and bigger than ever! Our first bazaar was such a success that we’ve expanded to the entire Hastings Street Ballroom and Tangent Gallery complex! The Bazaar will include a curated selection of artists and local merchants specializing in jewelry, fine art, herbalism, self-care, and esoteric wares and will also host tarot readers, metaphysical workers, body artists. The expanded Bazaar will now include musical performances and entertainment throughout the night as well a selection of some of the best food in Detroit! Local non-profits and community organizations will also be set up to inspire you to get active and involved in making your world better. At midnight, join us for a manifestation ritual - dig deep and plant the seeds of manifestation just in time for the spring equinox. After midnight, close out the evening with a late-night dance party.

♫ LUNG ♫
Powerhouse art-punk cello-grunge duo Lung have a sound that is dark and commanding, evoking the driving sludge of early grunge with layered sinister undertones. Described as "loud, dissonant, innovative, and fearless" (Fair Shakes and Just Dessert) and "post-grunge mixed with a dose of the avant garde (Paul Silver, Jersey Beat), "Lung doesn't try to fit in - they pry their way in with a velvet crowbar" (Brian Baker, CityBeat Cincinnati). The band is Kate Wakefield, a classically trained opera singer and cellist, and drummer Daisy Caplan, formerly of Foxy Shazam, Babe Rage, and Ayin. Playing shows from SXSW to Treefort Music Festival to famed DIY venues like 924 Gilman Street, Lung have made their presence known and developed the reputation as a “must see” band. A relentless touring machine, the pair have played over 800 shows across North America and Europe.

Formulate your own bewitching Spring elixir to welcome new beginnings and support you with the strength and power you’ll need to let go of old ideas, release that which no longer serves you, make room to expand your mind and open up to change.
Each attendee will take home a half-pint jar of elixir to extract and strain in the coming weeks and a 1oz glass dropper bottle for dosing. Alcohol based and alcohol-free (vegetable glycerine or apple cider vinegar) options to craft your formulas will be available.
