Alan Murdie will be talking on Witches and Poltergeists - the Case for Real Witchcraft
In 2024 Alan Murdie edited the Fortean Times Bookazine, 'Poltergeist! - World’s Most Terrifying Haunting' a collection of ancient and modern poltergeist cases from around the world.
One frequently overlooked aspect of poltergeists is the role that claims of witchcraft may play in them. In this talk Alan draws upon extensive research into witchcraft allegations in the context of modern poltergeist outbreaks that have occurred in the UK, Italy and Latin America. He also considers the implications for our re-assessment of certain historic 16th and 17th century witch trials held in the British Isles.
