Our annual Women’s retreat. This year it’s going to be all about medicine making and home remedies. We will be making and taking home a jar of fire cider for the season. We'll also explore some of the basics of making medicines at home, such as what's the difference between and infusion and a decoction, how to make a basic salve, what tea herbs we should have on hand for our medicine cabinets, etc. I encourage everyone to think about what kinds of home remedies you have learned in your life time that you can share with the group. Our retreat officially starts @4:00 pm on Friday, when most of our Wise Women start setting up their camping spots. We have a potluck @6:00, followed by networking around the fire until bedtime.
Saturday is the main event, which starts @8:00 with breakfast, followed by our opening ceremony at the labyrinth @9:00. We'll have a morning medicine making discussion and activity followed by lunch. After lunch, we'll make our fire cider and share home remedy stories. We'll take a nice walk or dance around a bit to clear our spiritual and physical energies, too. We'll also do a closing ceremony at the labyrinth. Dinner is on our own for Saturday (most of us just go for leftovers from the potluck and lunch, but there are several nearby casual restaurants and delivery options, too. After dinner, we'll light another fire for Wise Women Council and more networking until bedtime.
Sunday morning is for breakfast, breaking camp, and transitioning back to home and our regular lives.
