About this Event
Across Europe, single women -- students, young workers, single mothers, elderly women and migrant women -- are 3 to 4 times more likely than the general population to be facing situations of severe energy vulnerability.
The WISE Project aims to:
- Raise awareness of energy injustices experienced by single women
- Organise energy solidarity actions to build up energy knowledge and know-how of women
- Co-ordinate efforts to align policy and practice to promote energy solidarity
The Pan-European Conference will create opportunity
- Explain the WISE project and promote broader engagement
- Review the current situation in WISE Partner countries[1]
- Offer a series of workshops focusing on actions needed across diverse areas
- Examine a just, clean energy transition – including for single women – from the perspective of basic human rights law
WISE aims to bring together 150 people from diverse sectors: advocacy, policy and legislation, energy companies, NGOs/CSOs, government agencies, housing, renovation, energy efficiency, financing, municipalities, philantropies, social service providers, etc.
