About this Event

Step into the world of jewelry-making and design a stunning wire-beaded bracelet in this hands-on workshop led by Amanda Nicol. This workshop combines artistry, relaxation, and purpose, perfect for beginners or anyone looking to explore their creative side. Walk away with a unique piece of jewelry you crafted and skills and memories to cherish.

In this workshop, you’ll design a bracelet that reflects your style using repurposed beads and wire. Under the expert guidance of Nicol—a renowned jewelry designer with over 20 years of experience—you’ll learn essential wire-wrapping techniques and bead selection tips. This is your chance to unwind, connect, and express yourself in a supportive, creative environment.

Your participation goes beyond just creating a bracelet; it helps support @Jewelry_OneofaKIND, a mission-driven brand that employs women in Miami Beach recovering from food insecurity and domestic violence. The same techniques you’ll learn in this workshop are those they teach the women they employ, offering them resources and opportunities to build better futures. Together, they are making a difference, one handcrafted piece at a time.

Amanda Nicol is the creative mind behind @Jewelry_OneofaKIND, a brand dedicated to empowering women in Miami Beach facing food insecurity and domestic violence. Every handcrafted piece from their collection tells a story of resilience, strength, and creativity. With over 20 years in the jewelry industry, Amanda blends artistry with advocacy, creating beautiful handcrafted pieces that support local women in need. Her designs have been featured in WWD, The New York Times, and Harper’s Bazaar, and sold in renowned boutiques like Fred Segal and Kirna Zabette.

A special thank you to The Bead District for providing the tools for this workshop.

The Things Lab is supported in part by Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
