Celebrate the darkest time of the year with an exquisite weave of atmospheric, seasonal music and winter words by Dylan Thomas, Laurie Lee, Charles Dickens, and more. From Holst’s Midwinter and Corelli’s Christmas Concerto to Vivaldi’s iconic ‘Winter’ from The Four Seasons, interwoven with some of the finest seasonal poetry and prose, narrated by Sunny Ormonde, best known as ‘Lilian’ from The Archers.
We will illuminate the night with a glorious offering of music in the beautiful setting of William Shakespeare’s final resting place, Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The winter solstice represents a symbolic dividing line; that moment at the year’s end where old gives way to new, despair transforms into hope and darkness becomes light.
You can also enjoy the beautifully decorated pillars by the community at Escape Arts
In association with Hambletts Productions.
