Kingston Waterfront Business Association announces the 3rd Annual Wintertide on Saturday, November 30. With dozens of festivities and activities for all ages across the myriad of businesses lining Broadway, Abeel Street, West Strand, and Rondout Landing, the event is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, which also happens to fall on Small Business Saturday. The event will culminate at dusk with the official tree lighting at T.R. Gallo Park, sponsored by TKG Real Estate and performances by the Rock Academy. Area restaurants and bars will continue to serve libations into the evening. More information at https://linktr.ee/kingstonwintertide, or find thekingstonwaterfront on instagram.Following the tradition of KWBA’s monthly Night Markets, businesses throughout the Kingston Waterfront will be offering special promotions, music, free craft-making and festive treats as you stroll and shop the neighborhood. For those with children, pick up donuts from Half Moon Rondout Cafe before visiting Hudson River Maritime Museum for a free children’s storytelling session. Then head over to Maison Après l’Amour to make an upcycled ornament and enjoy a hot cocoa bar, while paying a special visit with Santa. Stop by the pop-up maker’s market at the department of things and create a free silkscreen printed holiday greeting card before checking out the opening of new business Little Moon Tattoo who will be hosting their studio opening party, an art show, and a dumpling pop-up. Next, head over to Broadway and participate in kid’s crafts and “pick a chip” for a discount at PeaceLoveVintage (who are also collecting toys for People’s Place), walk down the block to Chicory Naturalist to craft your own twig ornament. If sipping and shopping is more your speed; grab a mulled wine from Brunette Wine Bar then enjoy some live jazz and boozy cider as you pursue the antiques at Milne Antiques and Design, pick up a festive crown or holiday hanging bundle from Hops Petunia, sample wine and charcuterie at Kingston Wine Co., and get ready to sing your way in the holiday spirit at Decades with Christmas Karaoke. Finally, join us in T.R.Gallo Park for the tree lighting ceremony at dusk.
Plus, grab a specially printed passport from The Department of Things, Ship to Shore, Half Moon Donuts, or Hudson River Maritime Museum and collect a stamp for all participating businesses to be entered into a raffle to win a unique Kingston Waterfront Business Goodie Basket. Worth almost $1000, the prize package includes gift certificates to local restaurants, museum passes, rowing lessons, goodies from local shops, and more!
