Derina Harvey leads the award-winning Celtic Rock group, the Derina Harvey Band (dHb). With a show that offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as a few originals, Derina’s vibrant personality takes center stage with humour, storytelling, and, of course, her powerful vocals. That voice earned her a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for “Contemporary Singer of the Year”. dHb has been likened to a “rockier” version of Canada’s Great Big Sea, if fronted by Adele. The group took home the 2024 East Coast Music Award for “Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year”, and is also nominated for a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for “New/Emerging Artist of the Year”. The accolades are deserved, as this Celtic Rock group has a high-energy live show that leaves audiences hollering from their seats. The group enjoyed a huge wave of new online followers from across the globe via TikTok. dHb’s recording of Tom Lewis’s “The Last Shanty” was used in thousands of videos on the platform and is a regular staple at Edmonton Oilers games to pump up the crowd.
St.Arnaud is the music of Ian (St.Arnaud), a project that balances buoyant, wry storytelling with roots and early indie influences, all wrapped in lively, danceable arrangements. Often described as “the goofy side of self-serious indie rock.” St.Arnaud began as a solo endeavour in the wake of the 2017 passing of close friend and musical collaborator Luke Jansen. What started as an intimate songwriting outlet has since grown into a dynamic live ensemble, featuring drums, bass, keys, electric guitar, and horns—each performance marked by a playful, improvisatory spirit. The self-titled St.Arnaud (Cordova Bay Records 2026) is the third record, but the first to really represent the spirit of a band. St.Arnaud has played with Basia Bulat, Reuben and the Dark, and Lucy Rose among countless others and has performed at stages across the world including The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, New Colossus Festival, FOCUS Wales, and Tallinn Music Week. St.Arnaud has been featured on Exclaim!, Folk Radio UK, Indie 88, CKUA, and the CBC Radio 3 top 10.
DJ Lisa Lo rounds out the bill, and the event is from 5-8pm in the Ice District Plaza next to Rogers Place.
