The Barony of Wintermist invites the populace of Caid to join us for the celebration of our Baronial Anniversary! We will have armored combat, rapier, and thrown weapons tournaments, as well as an A&S competition, to find our new Wintermist champions. We will also have Kubb games going for those interested.
SCHEDULE:
8:00am: Set-up
9:00am: Site opens
10:00am: Opening court (at excellencies’ leisure)
11:00am: Tournaments begin
12:30pm: Lunch Break
4:00pm: Closing court
5:00pm: Site closes
ACTIVITIES: A&S Competitions: For this year’s competition to determine Wintermist’s next Baronial A&S champion, we are going to mix it up a bit with some mixed media. We would like for your entry to use at least two different mediums - maybe you make something using wood and fabric, or leather and beads, or maybe ceramic and glass. There are so many possibilities, and we are excited to see the variety our talented artisans put on display!
*If you are entering art for the extra life only, then please indicate such when you take your art to the tables.
TOURNAMENTS: Lists will close 15 minutes after court. Tournaments will begin shortly after the closing of lists.
Armored: Armored will be standard double elimination with an extra life granted for bringing an Art for Display! The art does not have to match the theme, but will not be counted for the A&S competition unless it does.
Cut & Thrust: The Inaugural Cut & Thrust Wintermist Baronial Champion will be determined through a tournament following the same format as Rapier, Single elimination pools, with 5-8 people in each pool. The top two from each pool will go onto Semi-Finals. An extra life will be granted for bringing an Art for Display! The art does not have to match the theme, but will not be counted for the A&S competition unless it does.

Thrown Weapons: Come one and come all to try your hand at becoming Wintermist’s Thrown Weapons Champion! You Don’t have to be Authorized, but you must have closed toe shoes. No Crocks!
Kubb: Come have fun playing the viking game of Kubb!
PHOTO CONTEST: Wintermist Anniversary Cover Photo Contest: Design our new cover photo! Photo or design must use facebook's mobile cover photo sizing. Submit photos to Wintermist's Facebook page via DM with your full SCA name. Multiple entries accepted. Submissions accepted until May 17th. Winner chosen by Baron & Baroness and awarded at Wintermist Anniversary. A gallery will be posted to showcase all designs.
EVENT REGISTRATION: Adult Event Registration: $20.00. Adult Member Discount Event Registration: $10.00. Youth aged 15 and under are guests of the Barony; 16 and over are adult price. Cash or checks will be accepted at gate. Checks can be made payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Wintermist.

From the North: (using I5) Take I-5 South to exit 253 for Stockdale/hwy 58. Stay on Hwy 58 until exit 111( for H st and Chester), Turn right onto S. H St, then Right onto Belle Terrace finally turn Left onto Chapel Drive, church will be on the Left hand side.
Alternate 1 (using HWY 99) - take Hwy 99 south to Exit 24 (Stockdale Hwy toward Brundage Lane) turn left onto Stockdale Hwy, then Right onto Wible Road, left onto Belle Terrace and finally Right onto Chapel Drive, the church will be on the left.
Alternate 2 (using Hwy 101) - take hwy 101 south to CA-46E toward Bakersfield, Take CA-46 E to the I-5 South. Then follow I5 south to exit 253 (stockdale/hwy 58). Stay on Hwy 58 until exit 111( for H st and Chester), Turn right onto S. H St, then Right onto Belle Terrace finally turn Left onto Chapel Drive, church will be on the Left hand side.
From the South: Take I-5 North following signs before merging onto Hwy 99 North. Take Exit 23 for Ming Ave N. Turn Left onto Ming Ave. Turn Left onto Castro Lane, Turn Right onto Belle Terrace. Turn Right onto Chapel Drive, church is on the Left.
