This offering is in collaboration with Melanie Hutton, our Monday night Yin teacher at Jai Yoga Studio. Melanie is originally from London and now lives in Manchester. An experienced yoga teacher and lots of travel teaching experience too.
Wintering with Yin mini retreat, will allow you to gain deep rest during the darker months of the winter season. Winter is a time to pause, rest and reflect. We aim to bring you this during the workshop. A practice to rest with cosy blankets, props such as bolsters for support in poses that nourish and repair your nervous system all in a candlelit yoga studio for the ambience of rest .
Yin yoga’s aim is to release tension and slow the turbulence of the mind. This will be combined with gentle meditation, gentle guided breath-work, yoga philosophy and poetry, leaving you feeling calm, grounded and relaxed.

In Chinese Medicine theory, there are five natural elements that exist within us, as they do in nature. Each season belongs to a particular element and has unique correspondences. So during this workshop we will be targeting back body lines and inner legs for the Water Element associated with the winter. This element stores many people's reserves of energy . This is why it is crucial to rest in the winter.
The schedule:
Arrival + Welcome warm drink (chai, cacao or herbal tea)
Yin Yoga practice
Space to relax + connect with like minded people.
End with a closing circle.
