Winterfest is in full swing on Saturday and Sunday, February 15-16! Check out the live ice carvings on Saturday and Sunday outside the Mauch Chunk Opera House. Saunter along Race Street and Broadway, enjoy the ice carvings outside many of the businesses, enjoy the music outside the train station, take a ride on the Jim Thorpe Trolley(weather permitting), and enjoy some time at one of the local pubs and restaurants and relax!
And don't forget about the annual Winterfest Mug Walk! Your purchase includes a commemorative mug and the opportunity to visit 18 different merchants and collect a variety of goodies. Your purchase also includes a commemorative bag from the Jim Thorpe Olive Oil Company to help carry your treasure! Mug Walk Tickets are selling fast..... so don't delay! The Mug Walk is a non-alcoholic event.
Take a break from the chill and stop by the Family Warming Station at the Mauch Chunk Museum & Ballroom at 41 West Broadway; grab a snack and check out the vendors.
Parking Info!
Plan ahead! Know where to park ahead of time. Parking is limited in Jim Thorpe, especially on event weekends. So come early and stay late!
The main parking area is the Carbon County Municipal Parking lot, located at 1 Susquehanna Street just north of the train station. The cost is $25/day 6:00 am through 6:00 pm (Saturday and Sunday).
Street parking is also available in the immediate downtown. Pay at the kiosks or via the Flowbird app.
Parking is also available at the County Parking Lot at 41 Susquehanna Street, just south of the train station.
Additional parking will be provided by Immaculate Conception Parish at 163 West Broadway on Saturday and Sunday. Scan the QR code and pay via credit card.
Please do not park on West Broadway posted with RED permit signs as this is residential permit parking only. Don't ruin your stay in JT and get a $75 parking ticket.
