The South Downs National Park Authority securied funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, for the Downs to the Sea project. Their aim is to restore and protect key freshwater habitats in and around the South Downs National Park, which are instrumental in nature recovery and resilience to climate change.
Water and wetlands are vital for the environment and our health. Yet the South East of England is water-stressed and our wetlands are under increasing threat.
A lack of access to, and understanding about these vital habitats and resources is threatening the benefits they bring to us all.
