We invite the youth of the South Bay to come together in celebration and exploration of self-expression through speech. We will be holding both Impromptu Speech and Storytelling competitions.Through impromptu speech, students will use creativity and ingenuity to deliver short speeches on a variety of topics given on the spot. Spontaneity, fun, and imagination will be their roadmaps on the journey to a championship win! Students will have 10 minutes to prepare a speech and up to 5 minutes to present it.
Storytelling invites students to share works that are personal and deeply meaningful to them. To allow for full self-expression, students may perform either fictional or nonfictional pieces. Feel free to bring your text with you; no need to memorize! This is your stage and your time. All speeches and stories must be entirely original and no longer than 10 minutes.
Trophies will be awarded to the top winners, and blueberry muffins will be given to all. Come join us and make your voice heard!
