Just because the leaves have fallen, doesn't mean you can't ID woody plants in winter! Woody plants have their own unique combinations of characteristics that allow you to ID them at any time of the year. Many of these characteristics are found on their twigs. We'll have a hands on workshop with twigs from several different species so you can learn what characteristics to look for that will help you ID trees like some of our native oaks, dogwood, tulip tree, and others. Please bring a hand lens/magnifying glass/jeweler's loupe if you have one. This interactive workshop will be led by Dr. Gloria Caddell, Dean Emerita at University of Central Oklahoma College of Mathmetics and Science, and sister of our own board member Mary Caddell!
