Join retired DNR Wolf Biologist Dick Thiel and the TWIN crew for a Wisconsin Wolf Ecology and Management Clinic. Morning lectures will cover basic wolf management principles, human value systems, and wolves’ natural history and ecology – all topics that are timely and important, given the ongoing controversies surrounding this iconic animal, and its status as a keystone predator. After lunch, you’ll head to the field to examine wolf tracks and scent posts and to get a close-up look at wolves’ mastery of the wintery landscape, as you learn more about wolves’ ecological role. You’ll likely encounter tracks and signs of other winter wildlife as well. Bring a bag lunch and beverage and appropriate clothing for several hours outdoors. Limit 25 people.
