Join us for an exhilarating winter stomp around your local rewilding site at Heal Somerset. Winter can be a tough time for us and for the wildlife around us but this can also be a beautiful time of the year for connecting with nature. Bare trees make it even easier to spot some of our resident and migrant birds visiting for winter and the inevitable muddy conditions allows us to track footprints of some of the more elusive wildlife around us including badgers, foxes, deer and perhaps even our wild-living beavers.
Expert wildlife guide Nick Patel will help you identify some of the the sights and sounds of the winter wildlife on site and you will learn more about what rewilding is already achieving at Heal Somerset.
You will meet Nick at 10am at our visitors parking and after the tour, you can warm up with Nick and your group in our cosy events space where we will have light refreshments and perhaps a festive treat or two.
Christmas hats and other festive outfits are optional.
What you might see: siskin, chiffchaff, treecreeper, long-tailed tit, kestrel, short-eared owl, snipe, lapwing.
