These cold, dark days give us an incredible opportunity to pause, rest and reflect, when we give ourselves the time. Our mindful group walk, which starts at the Clubhouse and winds through the Wilding Waterhall Nature Reserve, celebrates the winter solstice, embracing the changes of the season in this beautiful landscape. *Book online to reserve your space via the ticket link.*
More details:
- We’ll be walking slowly and mindfully, a rare opportunity to slow down at a busy time of year.
- Before the walk, as you arrive, we’ll share a warming meal of soup and bread.
- We’ll take in views across Brighton, set within a wilding project which is working to restore rare chalk grassland and enhance vital habitats for local wildlife. It’s a great opportunity to explore a beautiful place only minutes outside the city, which you can return to over the coming months.
- After our walk as the light fades we’ll gather around a small fire, taking a moment for reflection on the year gone by and the one ahead, within the quiet beauty of the nature around us.
Our walk is led by Jo Wren, founder of Grow, with over a decade of experience running nature-connection courses, Jo brings a deep understanding of how time in nature can rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. This event offers a chance to reconnect with nature, nourish your wellbeing, and find inspiration in the changing light.
About Wilding Waterhall & the Clubhouse:
Wilding Waterhall is an exciting local initiative dedicated to restoring rare chalk grassland and enhancing biodiversity across its 222-acre site. With the help of grazing animals, the land is being transformed into a rich mosaic of chalk grassland, native scrub, woodland, and dew ponds — all supporting wildlife such as insects, birds, and bats.
Set within this former golf course, the Food Partnership are converting the former Golf Clubhouse into a venue for hire which also offers wellbeing groups for local people in need. The Clubhouse offers incredible views of the local downs, and is proving popular for away days, small conferences/ large meetings and celebrations. www.bhfood.org.uk/clubhouse
