About this Event
Locksbrook Cemetery, opened as Walcot Cemetery in 1864, contains over 50 species of tree, some of them unique in Bath. This walk will visit many of them, providing facts about each and tips on identification. Cemeteries are always rich in evergreens, but winter is the best time to appreciate the bark, buds and branch structures of deciduous trees as well.
The walk will be led by Hugh Williamson of the Bath Urban Treescape team. The route will be a mixture of paths and grass, some of which conceals uneven ground - walking boots are advised.
This is part of the ReBalance Bath Festival.
The meeting point is by the lodge at the main entrance to the cemetery. (What3words: twin.client.game)
