Learn to recognize and identify the dormant trees of the Black Run Preserve with our Ambassadors. We will use clues such as bark, buds, twigs, leaf litter, and location to identify the many trees and bushes in our hibernating forest. Our trails have hard and soft sand, slight elevations, roots, and stumps and some wet areas. Porta Potty is available at the beginning and end of hike.
DATE: Sunday, January 26, 2025
TIME: 10:00am to 12:00pm (Meet at the welcome table at 9:30 am to check in.)
WHERE TO MEET: Kettle Run Road East Trailhead Entrance. This is the main trailhead for Black Run Preserve.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Protect yourself from the sun, bugs, and cold.Hiking boots, sturdy shoes, or waterproof boots are recommended.
DETAILS: This is a social/informational hike to familiarize participants with the trails of the Black Run Preserve and the Friends of the Black Run Preserve community.
