About this Event
Tickets cost £10 per adult and £5 for children aged 5-16 – Under 5s always travel free on the Helston Railway. Travellers need to purchase their tickets using this online system. Your free tickets for under 5s also need to be booked here.
Trains will run at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30, on Saturday 07 January, and the journey out and back is 30 to 40 minutes approximately.
Please don't forget to bring your tickets with you. They will be digital, and to save paper they can just be shown on your phone, but if necessary you could print them out at home. When you arrive, if you wish, collect a free souvenir vintage style train ticket at our railway shop.
Your train will depart the platform at Prospidnick at the time scheduled on your ticket, and is not valid for other trains. You should probably be in the car park at least 30 minutes beforehand, as there is a short walk to the platform, and there may be some queuing to get the souvenir printed tickets at our shop. You could also come much earlier and have something to eat or drink in the buffet.
Our Cornish Carriages buffet, next to our shop, and near where you will park, will be open up to 1630. Why not take a little more time to enjoy this, or some teas or coffees, or even some of our delicious hot and cold food before you travel - the cream teas are not to be missed!
You might even like to pick up a souvenir or toy or perhaps badged clothing, in our well stocked Railway shop.
We want to be sure that our pricing is as clear as possible, so we have shown the booking fees alongside each ticket price and this will be added to the total, during checkout.
We understand that there are many pressures on families these days, so we have an automatic refund policy up to 7 days before your booked time. We are sorry that booking fees cannot be refunded.
We need to point out that we do reserve the right to use diesel instead of steam, but only if absolutely necessary due to things beyond our control. We hope that any change will not be necessary.
After this days special 'Winter-Steam-Up' the Helston Railway will be closed for passengers until our re-opening for 2023 season in March.
