About this Event
🌄 Solstice Sunrise Walk – A Family Adventure with Tom (National Trust)
Celebrate the shortest day of the year with a magical early morning walk up West Hill to watch the sun rise over Corfe Castle. Fingers crossed for clear skies—but even if it’s misty, the atmosphere is unforgettable! This special gathering takes place on the winter solstice, marking the turning point toward brighter days ahead.
👣 Perfect for families: Whether you're carrying little ones in backpacks or walking hand-in-hand with older kids, this gentle climb is a wonderful way to welcome the day together.
☕ Top tips for a cosy morning:
- Bring a flask of something warm—hot chocolate, tea, or coffee.
- Dress in layers and wrap up well. Hats and gloves make all the difference!
- The path may be muddy and the grass wet, so walking boots or wellies are best. Trainers will soak through quickly.
- Free parking at Castle View (thanks to the National Trust) until 9am.
Meet at Castle View Car Park.
🌧️ Weather watch: If it’s too wild out there, we’ll cancel and let you know via Eventbrite. Safety first—but we’ll hope for that golden glow!
