Celebrate the Winter Solstice in the quiet beauty of Stone Lane Gardens. Tune into the energy of the trees & the tai chi movements.
About this Event

The mind-body movement system of Tai Chi is made up of natural moves and principles that people find inspiring and easy to connect with. We will be led by expert Angus Clark, founder of .

The in-built relaxation, alignment and awareness of tai chi, creates an easily accessible and uplifting approach to wellbeing. Because it’s a system of natural movement, based on rhythm and cycles, it offers a perfect way of tuning in to the natural rhythms and cycles of nature and the planet, so easily forgotten and so helpful to remember.

During this event we will be celebrating the Winter Solstice which marks the shortest day and longest night of the Northern hemisphere. Join us in embracing the darkest part of the earths natural cycle: a time to pause, slow down, reflect and look forward to the reawakening of the suns active cycle. We will contemplate the balance of life, the necessity of cycles, change and transformation, drawing from the wisdom of trees and the rhythmic movement of tai chi.

We will use a few simple tai chi moves to engage in the quiet energy of the season, tuning into the stillness all around us and the beauty of Stone Lane Gardens. We will walk, then pause, walk, then pause...

We hope to draw the chi walk to a close in the light of the Midwinter Cold Moon, and honour the season in the tearooms with a festive mulled drink and mince pies!

All in all the Chi Walk will make for a rich and rewarding experience that will not only bring you closer to and appreciate the unique collection of Birch & Alder grown at Stone Lane Gardens, but other treescapes you may visit and the Natural World as a whole.

** You are most welcome to join whether you have experience of tai chi or not. **

Special thanks to Stone Lane Gardens for allowing us to use this beautiful tranquil space for the tai chi session.
