Kijam, a collective of local Castlemaine Kirtan singers and musicians, host public Kirtan events at every solstice and equinox.
Arrive at 6:30 PM for chai and mingling before chanting starts at 7 PM. Don't forget your water bottle and cushion, though chairs will be provided.
All, including children, are welcome to join us.
More on kirtan: Kirtan is a form of musical meditation that combines group singing, rhythm, and movement. Participants follow a lead singer and musicians, singing simple, repetitive phrases in Sanskrit. This uplifting practice helps you relax, connect with others, and experience different states, from calm meditation to joyful, ecstatic dance.
