£12BOOKING ESSENTIAL - this event usually sells out.
This Healing Drum event takes place as we approach the Winter Solstice - the time of year with the shortest daylight hours & the longest night in the ancient seasonal calendar.
The focus of the session will therefore be honouring the season of winter and the solstice: the embracing of the darkness and turning inwards, the gathering in of our energies and preparing to welcome the slow and steady return of the light. It will also be about potentially healing that which needs to be healed and perhaps looking into those darker aspects of self if the mood takes us in that direction.
Very similar to the previous Healing drum and meditation sessions, this is a standalone group where we open up to receive personal healing and also share what we have to give (if indeed we're in a position to give) through the rhythms of the drum that we create and in the intentions we set.
The group is free flow in the sense that participants can choose to simply sit and soak up the healing rhythmical vibes created, or they can join in with drumming and other instruments, or indeed clapping and singing if they wish! No experience is necessary.
The session usually begins with either a short meditation to connect with the season, quieten the mind or a gentle heartbeat rhythm to connect with ourselves and the rhythm of the Earth below our feet.
Each participant receives what I term 'an energy shake down', or a shamanic sound cleanse, where everyone sits and mindfully experiences a range of sound vibrations around them, dedicated to them and their own unique energetic vibration. The intention of this is to cleanse the energy field, lightening the mind, body & spirit.
This then leads into some more free-flow energetic drumming as the vibe or the mood takes us. We finish with a guided meditation to some light recorded music. The meditation will be winter focused, but is unscripted so it can be absolutely inspired by the group dynamics and the energies of the evening.
The group allows us to experiment in letting go of control and to experience freedom - essentially expressing ourselves freely through rhythm, offering out to the universe, and opening up the space to allow healing and inspiration in. Part of the beauty of the session is the spontaneity and trusting that whatever is needed will come to pass within the hour and a half session.
I bring only my shamanic healing drum, other drums and percussion instruments, my meditation music, myself and my energy. And, as with the previous groups, I shall await what I am given to share with those who attend with open minds and open hearts from the universal energy, 'the space in between' or what some like to call ‘spirit’ or ‘the divine’!!
