This Day Retreat will include yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra (deep conscious relaxation), chanting, reflection, contemplation, time for yourself and time for connection with others, if you so desire. There will also be a delicious shared vegan lunch. In yogic tradition, Hridyakasha is the 'heart space'. This is an expansive space, connected to, but expanding beyond the organ of the physical heart. Tuning into the hridyakasha enables us to reach deeply into our emotional landscape. Within the heartspace resides a light, jyoti, which is a symbol of our true essence, our atman or soul.
Hridayakasha Dharana is a meditation technique of 'concentrating on the heartspace'. This powerful yet gentle practice guides us into the heartspace, allowing feelings and emotions to be acknowledged, witnessed, released and/or transformed.
Wintertime is a season of quietness and rest. The short days, the darkness, the coldness, enable us to lay low and hibernate and this is an opportunity to get close to what lies beneath the surface of our everyday being. With the arrival of the winter solstice, the days will now begin to grow lighter and longer, as the sun returns and we begin to move slowly towards the emergence of spring once again. This retreat will savour the darkness of winter by mostly moving slowly and gently, with moments of restorative stillness as we take our time to connect to hridayakasha, our inner light.
All welcome.
