ABOUT FREEDOG
It is the effortless delivery of word and melody that draws you into the contented world of Freedog. From spacious ballads, smoke-filled grooves, and tongue-in-cheek pop songs, Freedog easily navigates the over-crowded waters of the singer-songwriter domain and sails gently and confidently toward firm ground.
Freedog has spent most of his life traveling the world as a professional skier in pursuit of deep powder and the perfect turn. Spending countless hours in hotels, mountain tops, international terminals, and cafe' surrounded by coaches, athletes, fans and journalists. All the while finding relief in the corner of a hotel lobby playing songs for a group of friends or penning lyrics on an airline napkin on an overnight trans-Atlantic flight. His trusty acoustic guitar accompanied him on nearly every trip as he crafted these songs.
Freedog was voted as the #1 Emerging Singer/Songwriter on Sirius/XM Radio's Coffeehouse Channel in 2010. Two of his songs were recently featured on The Ski Channel's major motion picture "The Story", and he was selected for the 3rd Season of the Solutions For Dreamers (all proceeds to the World Food Program to help the fight against hunger). Upon the release of A River's End, his 3rd effort, Freedog has opened for The Band of Heathens, John Fogerty, and produced multiple records for Carhartt Made By Hand campaign.
Freedog's latest musical project is his best yet. Collaborating with Grammy-nominated musician/songwriter, Johnny Neel, has simultaneously complimented the maturity of his songwriting and arrangement of sound, delivering a rare warmth of authenticity that will leave you feeling like you're in the right place.
The spirit lives on the current releases "Winter EP" & "Summer EP," recorded with the Band of Heathens in Austin, TX. In the meantime, you'll find them writing songs and playing shows wherever the river takes them; from the mountains, through the valley, into the sea.
ABOUT WYATT PIKE
Wyatt Pike, delights audiences by combining acoustic and common pop elements into his own unique style. Although he cites influential artists including Anders Osborne, Andy Shauf, and Phoebe Bridgers for his sound, his mastery of storytelling makes him a standout on his own.
While Wyatt has been performing live for over 7 years, it wasnât until 2019 that he committed fully to his passion, withdrawing from business school days before his scheduled departure. During his gap year Wyatt explored numerous facets of the music entertainment industry volunteering as a radio DJ, interning for Park Cityâs Mountain Town Music and auditioning for and earning acceptance to Berklee College of Music. Additionally he released his debut EP âBrand New Boyâ.
On âBrand New Boyâ, Wyatt captures snapshots of his personal experiences in high school brilliantly articulating common themes of identity, empathy and personal loss. His stories struck a chord worldwide, his growing popularity even capturing the attention of producers for the 4th season of American Idol.
The release of his most recent single, âDianaâ, an intimate retrospective of surmounting heartbreak, coincided with his steady rise on American Idol. His obvious talent, daring song choices and authentic nature propelled him to the showâs âTop 16â. He devastated audiences when he unexpectedly withdrew from the competition for personal reasons. His first comment on his departure echoed Luke Bryanâs prediction that he was going to âbe able to do music for the rest of his lifeâ stating simply âI had to leave the @AmercianIdol competition for personal reason but am so thankful I get to play music for the rest of my life.â
True to his promise of âmore musical things soonâ Wyatt has been living, writing and recording new music in Los Angeles, CA having moved there in September after a successful summer of shows across the United States.
