Join our community gathering to celebrate the Winter Solstice. This is part of our year-long commitment to connecting with the Celtic seasonal festivals together.RSVP: Due to the popularity of the event, it is essential that you email [email protected] if you are attending so that we can plan accordingly.
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year, and it is a quiet time to embrace the gifts that the restful darkness of winter can offer us. We’ll talk about what the festival meant to ancient peoples and how we can connect with the energy of the seasons in our own lives today, along with some inner journeying to experience the sacredness of the Solstice.
The evening starts at 6pm, please arrive anytime from then until around 6.45. We’ll offer a simple meal of rice and vegan stew (with fresh veggies grown right here on the farm!) You are welcome to bring something to share but it’s not required. We’ll then talk about the festival and be lead on a journey of the imagination, following up with songs and merriment.
There is no cost but we gratefully accept donations from those who can afford it.
Since it is winter, we will meet indoors, but may venture out to the fire circle for 20 mins or so if the weather permits.
PLEASE BRING:
- A bowl/plate and cutlery plus a mug (we have some but not enough)
- Food donation if you are able
- A tea light (we’ll have some for you if needed)
- Clothing for outdoors if weather looks amenable
Community is at the heart of The Fold and we would love to share this special festival with you.
