This aufguss will celebrate the winter solstice, to welcome the arrival of the winter and the shortest day of the year. Caused by the Earth’s tilt, as the Sun reaches its lowest position in the sky. The winter solstice also pinpoints the timid arrival of the light as it slowly increases around 1 minute everyday.
This is the second year that we invite you to get into the warmth of the sauna and the refreshing ocean water to remember that both light and darkness has its significance. Celebrating the darkness and its turning point into more light underline the wisdom of impermanence. Can we welcome all that there is with awareness and gratitude? Can we allow our light and shadow with equanimity?
During this aufguss session we wish to celebrate our being, with time for resource ourselves, giving esch of you the space to look inside, in silence and soft contemplation of our inner life. Closing a season, allowing us to leave what does not serve us anymore. This solstice and turning point welcomes the arriving of the light and a new cycle to come.
This session will have 3 aufguss in total and a more spacious sauna with only 18 spots.
Emir Mujezinovic
Emir works at the intersection of artistic expression, social work and well-being. He is inspired by Balkan traditions of herbal medicine, poetry & storytelling and humanistic music therapy. From his own experience of sauna and cold baths he uses it as a recipe for harmony and well-being.
Helena Fernández-Cavada
Helena works as a multidisciplinary artist from a holistic perspective and in the last years her work has focused on coexistence and existential wellbeing. She is a yoga practitioner with a daily dedicated practice of meditation.

ABOUT THE LOCATION
At Öresund Funkis, we offer separate changing rooms with lockers for storage. Please remember to bring your own padlock.
In the sauna, you’re free to choose what feels most comfortable for you, wearing swimwear, using only a towel to sit on, or covering yourself with a towel. Regardless of your choice, a towel to sit on is required to help protect the wooden benches.
The bathing pier is a public area, so we recommend wearing swimwear or covering yourself with a towel when heading to the water
ABOUT THE SAUNA
The sauna temperature is kept between 70-80°C. Thanks to the sauna’s design, we’re able to host longer aufguss sessions without the heat becoming overwhelming or exhausting.
The heater is positioned one meter above the ground, which means the lower benches stay slightly cooler,ideal for those who aren’t accustomed to higher temperatures.

The doors open at 14:30 for changing and landing where you will be offered herbal tea. We lock the doors at 14:45 and start the first session at 14:50. Should you arrive later, you will have to wait until the first session is completed. We aim to finish the last session around 16:30ish.
