Each week will offer a new experience with a selection of unique yoga props to help you improve and expand your practice. We’ll have an hour practice followed by a chance to connect as a group and enjoy an herbal mocktail or elixir. Schedule your practice on Fridays for fun and community connection through prop play!
Banded Yoga:
Resistance bands will kick us off, exploring tensegrity and efficient movement. Bands are great for both hypermobile and stiff body-types. Using the band will help refine your shapes, recruit specific muscle action and go beyond what you perceive possible.
Yoga Danda:
Then we move into new yoga territory with the Danda or staff. This yoga prop invites you to understand the role of ground force reaction and axial extension. These principles help you access your inner strength, length and creativity.
Sliding and Gliding:
Test your edge using sliding and gliding. Blankets, socks and sliders will invite you to access strength through isometric action. The beauty of gliding becomes a dance of sensory balancing and grace. You will find freedom and new muscles you never knew you had!
Yoga Blocks:
Yes blocks! But have you used them like this? Blocks give us longer limbs but also ways to recruit strength from your vital center. Build your understanding of how blocks support balance and proper posture. You’ll see helpful ways to integrate these basic yoga props in your regular yoga classes.
