Winter Outdoor Observations Walk
Have you ever seen a plant, mushroom, or critter and wondered what it was? Even in the Winter there are some cool things to see, so join DeSoto State Park staff to discover what can be observed & recorded using iNaturalist! iNaturalist is a free app that can be used to record observations of all sorts of things — plants, animals, and even fungi. Learn how to use the simple app to help contribute to park species lists and about species seen in the park. About the walk: along the Talmadge Butler Boardwalk Trail, with multiple rest spots if needed. Less than half a mile walk total.

Where: DeSoto State Park-Fort Payne, Alabama. Meet at DeSoto’s Talmadge Butler Boardwalk trailhead on County Road 89.
