About this Event
*Please note that Nature Walks at Fairhaven Memorial Park are seasonal this year and not monthly, and our next walk will be April 11, 2026.
Join Barefoot Joel & Fairhaven's Emily on a stimulating journey through a hidden sanctuary where you'll find impressive trees from around the world and a diversity of birds and other curious critters.
Learn how to identify species through guided observational techniques. Gravitate towards intriguing trees and admire their most memorable characteristics, including colorful blossoms, shapely leaves, strange fruits, attractive fragrances, textured trunks and gnarly branches.
Appreciate the lively chorus of birds and watch them play, hunt, forage and nest. Bring a pair of binoculars to aid in your discovery of elusive species.
Along the way, we'll find famous memorials, including Leo Fender and Corrie ten Boom, and learn about influential historical figures buried in the park since its establishment by Oliver Halsell in 1911.
This is a slow, easy walk on manicured lawn and pavement with a mix of full sun exposure and shade. The lawn is sometimes soggy, so wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting wet.
