Join Marti Stumpp for an artist-led workshop of Crochet Granny Squares at the Lebanon Winter Market inside Four Finger Distillery
What you will learn: Slip knot, chain stitch, double crochet, changing colors, tie/weave/sew in ends, basic pattern reading.
What you will receive: crochet hook, scissors, 3 stitch marker, written instructions, recommended YouTube videos (for further instructions beyond the class) and the yarn to make a basic granny square pattern.

A note from the artist: I am pushing 70, and find it hard to believe! I am retired and am a transplant to Lebanon. I have been doing all kinds of fiber arts crafts since I was 12 years old. I like to experiment with ideas that may or may not work. I have tried my hand at crochet, knit, counted cross stitch, embroidery, needlepoint, latch hook, sewing, plastic canvas, loom knitting, weaving, and probably things I have forgotten to mention. Probably because I wasn't any good at them! My next big thing to learn is locker hooking.
I learned many of these things from my mom and my sister. I have also learned from getting books and following the directions. I have found YouTube is a great way to learn things too. However, I do believe that one really should learn to read a pattern.
I love working with yarn. I love putting things together and seeing how they turn out. Sometimes only to rip it out and try something else. That is the fun of this art. Seeing an idea come to life. -Marti
