February 15: “Lock the Doors, the Shantyboats are in Town” presented by Bill Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds will offer insight into shanty boat life, sharing local stories and providing an insider’s look at restoring what may be the oldest existing shanty boat.The Blennerhassett Historical Foundation, Inc. invites the public to attend its annual 2026 Winter Lecture Series. This event will be held every Sunday in February at the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History, located at 137 Juliana Street in Parkersburg.
Event Details
The series features four lectures delivered by regional experts. Each session starts at 2:00 PM and lasts approximately one hour, followed by a question-and-answer period. On Sundays, museum doors open at 11:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the exhibits before or after each lecture.
Admission and Amenities
Admission for each lecture is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 3 to 12. Tickets are available at the door; there are no advanced sales. Attendees will enjoy light refreshments after each presentation.
