About this Event

You're invited to gently emerge from hibernation!

Wrap up warm and join us for a forest bathing walk followed by a hot lunch around the campfire. There will be opportunity to connect with yourself, nature and others as we walk in the woods and gather around the fire.

Today we celebrate Imbolc, the celtic pagan festival of new beginnings that marks the first signs of winter ending and spring beginning; the natural world is awakening. It's the mid point between the winter and spring solstices - we are on our way to warmer, brighter days. Whilst this event is inspired by the pagan traditions it is a secular mindfulness event that anyone can attend.

Forest bathing (no swimming involved!) is a mindful, gentle walk where you are guided in a series of activities designed to help you immerse yourself in nature using your senses.

After our walk we'll gather around the campfire for a hot meal and then toast some marshmallows for pud. The meal will be vegetarian - please let me know a week or more in advance if there are any other dietary requirements I can cater for.

What's provided:

A 90 minute forest bathing experience
Campfire
A simple, nourishing and tasty meal
Drinking water
Marshmallows (plant based) for toasting
Tarp & seat pads for somewhere dry to sit (please let me know if you require a chair if sitting on the ground isn't possible for you)
T ime and space to chat and connect around the fire, or you can sit quietly if that's what you need on the day.

What to bring: W arm, waterproof clothes - layers are recommend and walking boots/wellies are essential as we are in woodland so there will be mud.

W here to meet: we will be at Kersal Dale nature reserve and we'll meet at the Radford Street entrance. A reminder email with location details will be sent to you the week of the event.

The weather! It's always tricky running outside events at this time of year. Whilst we expect it to be cold we have to assess the conditions nearer the time. If we do need to reschedule you'll be offered another date (possibly the following day), and if you can't make that you'll be refunded.
