About this Event
Winter Fungal Foray and Forest Bathing
Join us for a day of exploring the magical world of fungi in Rushcliffe Country Park. Our expert guide will lead you on a journey through the forest, uncovering hidden treasures and fascinating facts about these mysterious organisms. You will also be given the opportunity to immerse yourself in the healing power of nature with a relaxing session of forest bathing. We will close the session with a cup of warm, freshly foraged tea.
Connect with the natural world around you and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the wonders of winter in the great outdoors!
This session will take place in our private woodlands at Rushcliffe Country Park. It will be entirely based outside, so wrap up warm! A shelter will be set up in case of rain, and a small campfire in case of cold weather (weather permitting).
The session will be led by Nature Therapy Practitioner Poppy and mycology expert Joni. Poppy regularly runs nature wellbeing and Forest School sessions in Nottinghamshire regularly throughout the year, and is the founder of Wild and Wonder. Due to popular demand, her sister Joni, a fungal enthusiast and University of Bath PhD student (and University of Cambridge graduate) will be joining her for another fungal foray, this time exploring the magic of wintertime mushrooms!
