Winter Camp is an excellent training experience for our own dojo students and for guests from other associations and other arts who wish to join in some intensive Aikido training. Our students who are in the kids curriculum who have not earned at least an orange belt are allowed to participate, but they must first obtain instructor permission and may be asked to only attend limited portions of camp. Kids may attend the regular classes they would normally attend during camp, but they will be joined by the adult camp students. Anyone may attend any session they want and get benefits from the training, but the camp does progress over the week, so attending back to back sessions may yield better results. While we are practicing through taisabaki into various techniques from said taisabaki, and while learning the connections between these taisabaki themselves and the families of techniques they easily open up is useful, one of the biggest focuses will be on embodying Aikido principles throughout the week. Our camps have historically been free, and it is still our wish that anyone who is not attending due to finances come anyway and pay $0. As such, the suggested camp fee is $15 per half day, $30 per day or $100 for the camp, but anyone may pay less (including $0) for any reason. People can also potentially stay in Nimz Sensei's basement for free with advance notice if space is still available.
