The trek offers numerous opportunities for photography, from capturing the stunning landscapes and frozen lakes to the vibrant sunsets and the magnificent Himalayan peaks.
The Brahmatal trek begins from the base village of Lohajung located in the Chamoli district in Garhwal Himalayas. The 6 km trek from Lohajung to the Gujreni campsite runs through dense forests of Conifer, Cedar, Oak and Fir. The Gujreni campsite is at the heart of a beautiful clearing surrounded by Oak and Rhododendrons with panoramic views of snow-capped ranges. At a height of 3,400m above sea level, Brahmatal Lake is a frozen alpine glacial lake. As said in Hindu mythology, the lake gets its name from Lord Brahma, who is said to have meditated here. Hence, Brahma-Tal, or Brahma’s Lake. The beauty of Brahmatal trek is the abundance of mountain glacier-fed lakes you find in this route. On your way to Brahmatal Lake, you will come across another lake, Bekaltal. Surrounded by evenly spread out beautiful oak trees, Bekaltal has a beauty of its kind. According to locals, Bekaltal is where Lord Brahma hides. Well, after seeing the beauty and the serene ambience of the lakes, the myths and the legends the locals have to tell you seem even more believable as these majestic creations of nature seem perfect to be a God’s abode.
In winter
Winters being extreme in the Himalayas makes it difficult to access the higher reaches of it during the peak winter months starting from November-December to the end of March. During this time, Himalayas receive a lot of snowfall which makes a lot of treks inaccessible. It is the same very reason which makes Brahmatal Trek a unique affair as this is among those rare treks nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas during that period wherein the trekkers can tread through snow and indulge in a magical experience.
Treks Plan
Day 1: Drive from kathgodam to lohajung(7600ft)– 210km 9hrs
Day 2: trek lohajung to bekaltal 9668ft - 6km 5hr
Day 3: Bekaltal to Brahmatal 10649ft - 7km 6hr
Day 4: brahmatal to Khorurai via Brahmatal (12,200 ft) Pass (11,250 ft, 6 kms 7hr)
Day 5: Khorurai to Lohajung 4 km / 4/5 hrs

Night stay at Lohajun in home stay/lodge on sharing basis as govt guideline
All meals during the trek. Regular Indian style nutritious vegetarian food during the trek, breakfast packed/hot lunch (depending upon the time you reach a campsite), snacks, dinner along with coffee/tea/soup.
Certified Mountaineer Leader with excellent Mountain Guide, who will be a local to this particular area and has profound knowledge of the trekking trails around.
Specialised Cook, Support staffs, Porters/Packed Animals for carrying the central logistics of the trek.
The entire permit fee, camping charges, Forest levy required for the trek. Stay at rest house/forest hut/tent as required in the trek.
Sanitized Sleeping bag and Sleeping Mattress (Bring your own sleeping bag for hygienic reason, if you have a high altitude specific Sleeping Bag).
Micro Spikes/Crampons and Gaiters if needed.
Basic First Aid and Medical kit with Oxygen cylinder.
Exclude
Transportation cost from Dehradun / Kathodam to Lohajung and back. We will arrange vehicle so you can divide equally with other participates.
We assume that you will carry your personal Rucksack / Backpack with all your personal belongings. If you want to offload your Rucksack and carried by our Pack Animal/Porter then you need to pay additional for the entire duration of the trek. The Rucksack should not weight more than 10 Kg.
Any tip/gratuity to the supports staff. If you are happy with the service, please tip them generously.
Any kind of insurance during the trek or transit.

All the guests are required to carry valid photo identities (Passport/Driving License/Voter ID Card). Many places do not accept the PAN Card as a valid photo ID.
The guests are also required to carry 4 passport size photographs along with their Photo-ID proof (Driving License/Passport/Voter-ID Card / Aadhar Card & School ID Card for children; Pan Card is not valid since it does not carry address). These are necessary to obtain permits.
Please note that some unforeseen situations may occur in the mountains leading to road blocks, route closure, stranded in a place etc. In such cases, we will be doing our best to change the itinerary in best possible ways so as to cover the trip duration (number of days) as per plan. There will be no refund possible in such scenarios if duration is reduced due to natural issues. In case, number of day’s increases, the cost of extra duration will be shared among all.
There will be no discounts or money refunded for missed or unused services, this includes voluntary or involuntary termination/departure from tour, i.e. sickness, death of a family member etc, late arrival on the tour, or premature departure either voluntarily or involuntarily.

If cancellation done prior to 40 Days of outing 50% will be refunded
