Join us at Tarrywile park in Danbury for a free Winter Nature Hike on Sunday December 21, from 10 AM – Noon.
Lori Lichtenauer Sanctuary Manager / Naturalist of The CT Audubon Society’s Deer Pond Nature Preserve in Sherman will lead this guided program covering highlights of winter birds, animals that are still active in the colder months and their amazing adaptations. Learn how to observe (Listen and Look for) animals in various winter habitats, forest, meadow and ponds. The first day of winter is called the summer solstice – come on out to kick off the winter season and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. (distance: approx. 2 miles on gently rolling hills). Park in the lower parking lot, take a short walk over the hill and meet at the red barn. This family friendly event (best for kids 10 and up) is free of charge. Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars and cameras.
