About this Event

Ever wondered where our feathered friends go in the winter?

Experience the continent-spanning journey of migrating birds and follow them from our backyards to the distant tropics and beyond. Discover how they get there, what compels them to make their epic journeys and catch a glimpse at their parallel lives down south.

The Winter Birding series is hosted by TRCA’s bander in charge and ornithologist Shane Abernethy. Shane has 7 years of ornithological experience and 3 years of banding at the Bird Research Station at TTP. He also produces the popular Feathered Friday series via TRCA Instagram.

This is a seated talk, taking place indoors at the Nature Centre at TTP.

Bring your travel mugs, all participants can enjoy complimentary coffee or hot chocolate.

This event is intended for a general audience:

  • Beginner level information
