About this Event

Ever wondered how our resident feathered friends adapt to our winter climate?

Every year, birds travel thousands of kilometers on a perilous journey to warmer climates to avoid the winter cold. But a number of them stay behind and brave the winter. Why don’t they leave, and how do they survive, or even thrive, in the harshest season Canada has to offer?

On this winter adventure, join Shane - Tommy Thompson Park's Bander-in-Charge and star of TRCA's #FeatheredFridays - on an intermediate-level guided birding walk as you explore one of Toronto's premier birding destinations! Learn to recognize common winter birds, check out the tools and guides best suited for birders of all levels, and discover the joys of winter birding!,

This event is intended for a general audience:

  • Beginner level information
  • Includes intermediate concepts
  • Content intended for older youth and adults
